Granary Refurb

paul2niki

Had a burst mains water pipe in the Granary loft over the winter months, saturated loft insulation brought the ceilings down and the cottage pretty much looked like a bomb had gone off... Now i know insurance companies get a bad rep, but the guys and girls that look after us have been fantastic, came out gave us the go ahead, after getting quotes for the main refurb. it was all systems go, had to do the plumbing and fit the kitchen myself as tradies are like gold dust in North Devon at the Mo! Niki's on my case to refit new bathrooms in the Ciderpress & Smithy... Have to see how the pennies work out. Both pretty chuffed with the finish tho!

On the fishing side, carp still haven't sporned, this cool wind from the north is keeping the water / air tempreture down, its pleasant enough in the sunshine but could do with a few exrta degrees to get them going, gonna be a late season.

I've been fishing mainly on the waggler this season and concentrating on the bottom pool, had a cracking tench yesterday and some really nice rudd, all on worm. Very enjoyable!!!!

We've still availability this season, seems a lot quiter in the westcounty than previous years, i think the long wet winter has peeps looking at warmer climates abroad... cant blame them, on the positive side the beaches & waves are a lot less crowded. Give us shout if you fancy a summer / autumn break.
